NEW Mastermind Courses
These are LIVE online classes where a small group of us will meet together for a month to focus on a tangible skill-building. Centered around group accountability, these classes are designed to push the edge of our collective learning and keep the momentum going by supporting tangible actions towards more thriving and resilient landscapes. People are needed as never before who can grow awesome, ecologically essential plants while also bringing back water and biodiversity even in the toughest scenarios. We need Sparrows.
These classes are part teaching, mentorship and accountability. Each Mastermind is structured first with your goals in mind. They are an experiment to deepen our learning together, and I hope you will join me in trying one out!

🌿Mastermind: Small-Batch Foraging for Land Stewardship
Ever wanted to eat more wild, free, flavorful and nutrient-dense foods? Small-batch foraging is about finding easy everyday ways to eat more wild, nutrient-dense foods while supporting more ecologically resilient landscapes. Eating wild foods may not sound like a recipe for land care, yet the very act of being fed and nourished by wild foods changes our relationship with the land. Depending more on wild food - even if just a nibble here and there - heightens our awareness of landscapes, what plants are abundant or scarce, what food there is in the wild or wild-ish places around us. It also gives us clues where we humans may be most needed!
🌿 Mastermind: Reading the Weeds
Weeds can tell us a lot about our gardens and our soils. They have hidden superpowers and have an enormous capacity for resilience. What can we learn from them? How can we “use our weeds” to support more abundant, ecologically diverse and thriving landscapes? Get to know tangible strategies + resources that you can use work with to work with you weeds in your landscape to uncover insights they have. We’ll explore a few common weed profiles including tasty edibles as well as weeds listed as “invasive”. Every plant has a story and can give us insights into what is happening in the soil under our feet. “Reading the weeds” is a practice that invites us to step up to a greater level of ecological stewardship.
🌿 Mastermind: How to Grow a Backyard Micronursery
Have you ever felt the bone-deep need to plant and propagate species that are needed in our landscapes and gardens? And not just for yourself but also for your neighborhood, commmunity or local landscapes? Do you know how many HUGE landscape regeneration stories started with a small (sometimes TINY) nursery? You don't need tons of sunlight or space to make a difference (a 1x1 ft square can grow quite a bit!) and whether you are considering a side business or simply looking to level up your skills to grow awesome plants for free to neighbors, we can learn from each other and our aspirations. I'll share insights of my own experience growing a 3,000 + plant micro nursery in a driveway and give opportunities to share and hone goals of participants, supporting each other along the way!
🌿 Mastermind: Grow Your Soil-Building Skills
Ever wanted to grow AWESOME soil in your backyard that is rich, beautiful and helps you grow gorgeous, pest + disease-resistant plants? Let's explore what is happening underground, who is present (or who is not), and how to work with your soil to unlock its full potential. Whether you want to gain soil-building skills to be a neighborhood soil consultant, build a more thriving yard or garden, or increase the resilience and hardiness of existing plants in a community, doing it together is a way to share learnings, build momentum, and unlock another level of what is possible. Let’s do this! Let’s be SOIL BUILDERS!
