"In the course of history, there comes a time when humanity is called to shift to a new level of consciousness, to reach a higher moral ground. A time when we have to shed our fear and give hope to each other. That time is now."Â
-Wangari Maathai
There is enormous untapped potential in your own backyard: from growing food to building and remediating degraded soils to filtering and capturing water to creating habitat for pollinators and beneficial insects or adding resilience to your watershed, neighborhood and region. Resilient landscapes make an incredible difference starting right where you are.Â
I started this website and community with a question: what would it look to create a connected and resilient community of gardeners, naturalists, soil builders and foragers that supports each other in realizing this incredible potential of resilience in our own backyards and landscape? What strategic support, resources, and strategies could we use to grow resilience one garden at a time?Â
This website strives to provide resources and ways to do just that!Â
What can you do to grow resilience right where you are? Gather practical tips on growing soil, restoring water cycles, fostering abundance and biodiversity right where you are, and tap into a community of people working to imagine what is truly possible if we set an intention to our best possible future.Â
Latest Blog: Meadows in Disguise
January 21st, 2026
"And so began a quest to see just how many species were silently growing in the unassuming and seemingly single-species lawns all around me. As I started looking closer, I continued to see them. Another and another. Dozens! Tiny flowers and new species everywhere. In winter. Literally beneath my feet. Over seventy plants later, I was floored. Lawns everywhere seemingly of just grass were actually bursting with dozens of species of all sorts of plants. They were meadows in disguise."
